About TideHour

TideHour publishes tide predictions for a first batch of NOAA reference stations in the United States. The heights and times come from NOAA CO-OPS. A program turns those predictions into the tables and the sentences on each page.

TideHour is not a NOAA website. Nothing here is an official NOAA product. The sentences follow fixed rules that are written down on the methodology page. Nobody writes a fresh description for each harbor.

This batch is a subset of the reference stations NOAA publishes. A station with a thin or broken prediction window is left out of the index. Subordinate stations, which NOAA derives from a reference station, do not have their own pages on TideHour so far.
