King Tides: Dates by State and Station

A king tide here is one of the three highest predicted high waters at a published station. The list covers this batch only. It is not a flood forecast and it is not every NOAA station.

What is a king tide?

NOAA does not publish a product named king tide. The three-high rule is a TideHour definition, applied separately at each station.

Why king tides happen

The tallest crests in this window tend to fall near new moons and full moons. The station pages measure the lag after those moons.

King tides and flooding

This page does not say that water will cover a road or a building. For NOAA's own description of king tides, use the link in this section.
