Key West tide profile for the next 12 months
Tide type: mixed
The daily pattern does not settle on one shape. 25 dates out of 365 carry a single crest. The two crests on a double day are often unequal. The tide here is mixed.
On a two-crest date one peak stands far above the other. The weaker peak is a minor rise beside the dominant crest.
The taller crest usually arrives around the middle of the day. Late morning and early afternoon hold that higher high water on a typical date.
Single-crest dates bunch in October: 3 dates there, out of 25 single-crest dates in the window.
How much the tide rises and falls
The water does not climb far. The average daily rise, from the lower low to the higher high, is 1.8 ft. That is a slight range. A beach walk at low water and high water can look almost like the same shoreline.
Spring peaks pull away from neap lulls. A few dates climb well past an ordinary day, enough to notice on a piling.
Low water below the datum is a regular event. It happens on 176 dates out of 365 dates that have a low. A minus reading is ordinary here, not a rarity.
No other Florida station is on TideHour so far, so this page does not rank the rise against another published station in the same state.
Highest and lowest predicted tides of the next 12 months
The lowest predicted water of the window falls in winter, at -0.7 ft on January 21, 2027 at 2:47 AM.
That lowest water falls outside daylight, so the year's extreme is not a daytime exposure.
Best low tides for tide pooling in Key West
Daylight exposure of the bottom is a regular seasonal event. Walkers get repeated chances, spread through the year, not one holiday weekend.
The next 12 months have 92 dates with a daylight minus tide.
Those daylight lows cluster in the late afternoon, near sunset. An early start is the wrong end of the day for the lowest water.
The daylight-minus dates come in two waves, one in the cool months and one in the warm months. A single season does not hold them all.

Key West tide questions
Why does Key West sometimes have only one high tide a day?
Key West is labeled mixed. 25 dates in this window have fewer than two high waters. The busiest month for that pattern is October, with 3 dates.
When is the lowest tide in Key West over the next 12 months?
The lowest predicted water of the window falls in winter, at -0.7 ft on January 21, 2027 at 2:47 AM. That lowest water falls outside daylight, so the year's extreme is not a daytime exposure.
When are king tides in Key West?
On this site a king tide is one of the 3 highest predicted highs in the window, not a flood warning. At Key West those highs are 2.5 ft on October 28, 2026 at 11:49 PM (outside daylight); 2.5 ft on October 27, 2026 at 11:04 PM (outside daylight); 2.5 ft on October 30, 2026 at 12:41 AM (outside daylight). The three highest crests in the window all fall in darkness, outside sunrise to sunset. Seeing those peaks means being out after dark.
When is the best time for tide pooling in Key West?
Daylight exposure of the bottom is a regular seasonal event. Walkers get repeated chances, spread through the year, not one holiday weekend. The next 12 months have 92 dates with a daylight minus tide. The daylight-minus dates come in two waves, one in the cool months and one in the warm months. A single season does not hold them all. Those daylight lows cluster in the late afternoon, near sunset. An early start is the wrong end of the day for the lowest water.
How much does the tide change in Key West?
The water does not climb far. The average daily rise, from the lower low to the higher high, is 1.8 ft. That is a slight range. A beach walk at low water and high water can look almost like the same shoreline. Spring peaks pull away from neap lulls. A few dates climb well past an ordinary day, enough to notice on a piling.
